Things are good on my end. Really, really good I have two jobs, one waitressing (which I would do without if I could. It's a paycheck.) and one at a local icecream stand serving tasty treats all day long.

Hint for those of you who are looking for that dream job (minus the pay): no one, and I mean no one, is grumpy when they come for icecream. I <3 my job. Iz da best!


My grandmother, after having gone through heart failure for the past three years, finally passed as of January of this year. We had our time, and it was better for us all since we were taking care of her and it was a challenge on all of us. But she was family, and that's what you do for family. We had our time, and we're okay.

But her house stands empty, and at an offer from my parents for a starter home between school and a real job, I've taken them up on it. Though, alas, the property has no chance of high-speed net beyond a dish which I cannot afford, I will have a full house to myself which has a central air unit, free natural gas heating and cooking, a KITCHEN (OMG that word just almost makes me die of excitement right there) a small room to PAINT in!!!(which I've never had before beyond a table in the garage here every so often), a fire place (natural gas also) and some ten acres to scheme all my evil plots on.

I've been working, therefore, putting every spare moment I have into cleaning the place and getting it organized the way I want it to be. I am SO excited to be moving in soon, and when I start student teaching in the fall I can kiss the dorms goodbye and stay in my nice, cozy new home. It's not technically mine, but as for the work and the layout, I'm making it as much mine as I can to make myself at home. I've been weeding flowerbeds, washing walls, washing cupboards, washing floors, washing bedsheets (anyone seeing a pattern here?), sparying hornets nests that have taken to the crevices outside, and overall making certain that all the things that hadn't been taken care of due to time restraints and other priorities while my grandmother lived there finally get the TLC they deserve. For those of you who have moved into a new house before, know I sympathize, and this is why they invented alcohol. If you have never attempted so yet...

I'd be asking for directions to the nearest State Store (Yes. PA is anal about our booze. Walmarts, alas, are boozeless.)

Someday, you'll understand.

Okay, so I know I don't rant all that much. Hell I barely "talk" at all on here.


...So, can some of you more savvy ones question me an answer here?


How come when I click on the "collections" button innocently thinking "oh this could be neat, seeing other people's special gatherings", that the result is me staring at a screen of "here's some collections we think you'll enjoy":

The list of which includes full-scale colored picture collections entitled BOOBIES. Vaginas. Spandex. HotNudes. Rearview. DeviousCollection4. etc.


...I'm sorry, did I step into a porno or what here, people? -_-

Honest to God, I believe full-heartedly that nudes are the best way to go when delving into the art world. Photography is fantastic, and the organic shape of the body can be used in such creative, fantastic ways that there is no parallel.

That being said. WTF is wrong with you people in the administration? I know it's hard to police what "is" art and what "is not", but I seriously, SERIOUSLY think there is a problem with pictures that would otherwise be considered PORN passed off as "art" on a site that is open to younger deviants who are looking to us older types in the community. If anything, these pictures should be HARD to find on this site. Not displayed as recommendations.

I have no problem with a female nude. I have no problem with a male nude. I have little problem, even, with poses which are not so kosher. But I see little value in a shot of a girl's anus just BECAUSE YOU CAN. Have some taste, people. When the biggest collections are of boobs, clits, and vag's then there is something seriously WRONG with an ART community that's flying under the wing as a free porn.

Back in school, in a dorm, but eh, no heating/electric/internet/food/water bills to worry about, senior year or not.

I will be a sight more active than I have been of late (*cough* at all *cough*) so hopefully I'll be getting pieces up for old-time's sake on a semi-regular basis.

To all my mentees, I apologize about being...um....absent If you guys send me a note with whatever pieces you would liked critiqued, I will most gladly take a look at them. I've got a lot of messages in my inbox as I watch an absurd amount of people in comparison to those that watch me, so I've got a bit to sort through, but you guys come first with whatever you'd like a comment on, I promise

My summer "vacation". After this week, I move back home from my college dorm room here at Edinboro University. I love my family. And yes, I will love to be spending the summer with them. I will admit, my parents looking over my shoulder is a bit difficult to get used to again, but my mom, my sister and I are two of my best friends. My siblings and I have only fought a handful of times when we were little. My parents and I have never fought, and despite that, they REMAIN parents who are willing to give so long as we are willing to do the same.

Like I said, I like being home.

....But then there's the dial-up.

We live in the middle of nowhere, we own 60 acres, have a small hobby farm, and our nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away.

The cable companies do not love us enough to come visit our quaint little home. ::


Therefore, I may not be responding much over the summer. I have a couple painting commissions from family and friends of the family, but otherwise I will be working my ass off at a local resturant. Most likely as a salad chef again . A waitress if I'm lucky.

But there won't be much time for posts or more than a few comments. Right now finals week has me strung out, I just got over taking my Praxis II exam (for those of you who don't know. A test much like the SAT's here in the U.S., except specifically designed to test a prospective teacher's qualification to...well....teach. If we don't pass, we don't teach. As an incoming art education major, I had to take a general knowledge hodge-podge of literature, math, science, and social studies for 2 hrs, as well as an art history and application section that ALSO lasted for 2 hrs) ......and frankly I'm burnt.

I'll get back here as often as I can, promise.
